Lead time

It takes time to bake and deliver a great tasting (and great looking) cake. Before you order, you’ll want to check how much time the bakery or supplier needs to fulfil your order and get it to your door. Many local bakeries and patisseries will require a minimum of 48 hours notice (maybe more) to make your cake to order. For customisation or special requests, lead times might be even longer. Zest Patisserie is one of the few cake suppliers in Sydney that offer next day delivery.

It’s also common for bakeries to prepare cakes for delivery before picking up orders so drivers can get on the road early. To avoid disappointment, make sure you check and get your order in with plenty of time. 

Location

Most bakeries will have dedicated areas where delivery is available - often only within a certain radius of the bakery itself. This is to ensure deliveries are on time and cakes remain fresh. With fuel prices rising, some suppliers keep their delivery area closer to home.

It’s best to check where the bakery is located and to what areas they offer delivery. At Zest, we have one retail store, however we deliver to most suburbs and locations around Sydney.

Delivery hours

Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a 24/7 cake delivery service. Suppliers will have set delivery hours in which they will be able to deliver your goods, often providing a 2-3 hour block in which they will arrive. You’ll want to make sure someone is available to meet the delivery driver and accept the cake at the given time (and that it can be refrigerated if needed until you’re ready to eat.)

Our delivery times are generally 7am-2pm Monday-Friday and 7am-midday on Saturdays. 

Cost

While some suppliers have standard delivery fees, most delivery costs will vary - often based on your order and/or location. Delivery fees should be confirmed at the time of booking so there are no surprises and you can ensure they fit within your budget.

Minimum orders 

Before you order, be sure to check the minimum order requirements! Some bakeries may require you to spend a minimum amount to qualify for delivery. At Zest we have no minimum order requirements, so you can order any of our delicious desserts and organise them to be delivered to your door.
